Getting started

The following checklist is a good place to start:

1. Read the Scheme’s Product Disclosure Statement carefully and other documents.
2. Set long-term savings goals. If you need help, visit www.sorted.org.nz/tools/goal-planner. Keep a record of your goals and frequently review them – annually is a popular choice.
3. Seek financial advice. You can find a list of financial advisers on the Financial Markets Authority website, or contact MoneyTalks at www.moneytalks.co.nz
4. Choose an investment option. Align your long-term savings goals with the investment option that best reflects how you feel about risk. Find out what type of investor you are at www.sorted.org.nz/tools/investor-kickstarter.
